Join us on Shabbat, October 24, at 9:15 am for our Purple Shabbat and Tikkun Olam Shabbat. We will honor synagogue members who currently lead, or have previously led, Tikkun Olam initiatives on behalf of our community, while highlighting the many volunteer efforts that embody our congregation’s commitment to social action. As part of that commitment, and in recognition of Purple Shabbat, an initiative of the Jewish Coalition Against Domestic Abuse, we will also observe Domestic Violence Awareness Month in partnership with Montgomery County.
Our D’var Torah will be delivered by congregant Debbie Feinstein, senior assistant state’s attorney and chief of the Special Victims Division for Montgomery County. Following the kiddush luncheon, at 12:30 pm, Debbie will lead a Q&A and community discussion exploring themes from her D’var Torah, including ways we can foster healthy relationships, address domestic violence, and support the important work of the Family Justice Center.
