May 9 @ 7:30 pm

The Edlavitch DCJCC’s JxJ: DC Jewish Film and Music Festival begins on May 9 and runs through May 19.This year, Beth El, in partnership with JxJ, has an exciting opportunity! Now through Thursday, April 18, tickets for the Opening Night presentation of Seven Blessings at Landmark Bethesda Row will be reserved exclusively for Beth El members.

Join your Beth El friends and community on Thursday, May 9 at 7:30 pm for this special screening of Seven Blessings, recipient of 10 Israeli Academy Awards (Ofirs), including Best Picture. In this bittersweet dramedy, a boisterous Moroccan-Jewish clan reunites for a cross-cultural wedding that surfaces festering secrets. Centered around the union of a Moroccan-Jewish bride and a French-Ashkenazi groom, the film explores the traditional blessings that are pronounced during the ceremony, again at the reception, and then again for the next seven nights with loved ones hosting special dinners in the couple’s honor. Added to the mix is a joyous comedy of errors and misinterpretation by numerous members of the family speaking multiple languages, spanning Hebrew, Arabic, French, and the French Moroccan dialect.

Help fill the theater to make this truly Beth El Night at JxJ! Purchase your tickets for the May 9 showing of Seven Blessings at Landmark’s Bethesda Row today using the form below. If you have a Festival Pass you can indicate that on the registration form, and we will make sure to include you in our ticket count.
