Meet the Author: Sasha Vasilyuk

Join us via Zoom for a talk with Sasha Vasilyuk, author of Your Presence is Mandatory, winner of the 2025 Sami Rohr Prize for Jewish Literature and a California Book Award Gold Medal. Vasilyuk’s gripping novel, which is based on her own family history, illuminates both the Soviet past and the present-day Russia-Ukraine war. You are also invited to register for our in-person Book Chat (Thursday, October 16, at 7:00 pm at Beth El) about Your Presence is Mandatory, which will nicely complement the author’s Zoom visit.
