September 30 at 9:30 am - 10:30 am

Mishnah Rosh Hashanah begins with a deceptively simple question: Who decides when time begins? Along the way, we’ll study astronomy, eyewitness testimony, courtroom debate, Jewish law, and the rituals of Rosh Hashanah from the sighting of the new moon to the sounding of the shofar. The tractate invites us to explore how the Jewish calendar, and sacred time itself, is established. Join us every Wednesday at 9:30 am via Zoom beginning September 30. (Open to newcomers and to those of any background or experience level.)
