עוֹשֶׂה מַעֲשֵׂה בְּרֵאשִׁית

These words – oseh ma’aseh bereishit, “who makes the works of creation” – conclude the blessing for expressing awe at the ongoing wonder of God’s creation, such as Rabbi Harris’s finding awe at the Grand Canyon.

Awe (yirah) may spring from a sight in nature, from a spiritual experience, through prayer or song, in the arts, an awareness of your place in the universe… or something unique. Be part of exploring yirah. Please share a moment when you felt awe. To participate, submit your pictures and stories to info@bethelmc.org with the subject “Exploring Yirah” by Friday, December 4.
