Holocaust Remembrance in Theater, Music, and Prayer

Please join us as we commemorate Yom HaShoah, mourning and remembering the approximately six million Jews who perished in the Holocaust. In this special commemoration, we will remember the lives lost through shared stories, music, and prayer.

  • Theater – Beth El teen Elana Snyder (Whitman High School) joins Ayla Gerstenblith (Jewish Day School) and Ava Klugerman (Sandy Spring Friends School) to perform a short theatrical piece entitled “Anatomy of a Trauma,” written by Holocaust survivor and playwright, Joan Da Silva of Arlington, Virginia
  • Music – Beth El Member Hersh Alexander will perform a few pieces on the violin, including Oyfn Pripitchik and Papirosn
  • Prayer – Ma’ariv (Evening) Service with memorial prayers for Yom HaShoah
