Tikkun Olam Opportunities While Practicing Social Distancing
While COVID-19 prevents us to volunteer together, social distancing will not prevent us engaging in social action! Select a Tikkun Olam project that you can do on your own or with your family by following the directions below. These projects can be done at any time.
Sew Face Masks
University of Maryland School of Nursing is in dire need of face masks. Since hospitals in our area and across the country still need blood in these difficult times, please consider donating blood. American Red Cross has a blood donor center in Rockville, and NIH has a blood donation center in Bethesda. If you still wish to give blood, we recommend you check with at least one of those two. Please visit their websites for information on how to set up appointments and precautions on how to donate safely. For the Red Cross go to https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/dlp/coronavirus–covid-19–and-blood-donation.html, and for NIH go to https://clinicalcenter.nih.gov/blooddonor/urgentupdates.html.
