Day School & College Outreach
Jewish Day School Families
The Beth El Day School Committee is where families with children in the Jewish day schools come together to connect with the synagogue. The committee sponsors events throughout the year, such as:
- Purim party with Jewish Foundation for Group Homes residents
- Shabbat Dinners
- Student-led Shabbat Services
- Mitzvah Day project
If your child attends any of the area Jewish day schools, we want to meet you and make sure you’re part of our next activity. Click here for the latest Day School Newsletter.
Day Schools in the DC Metro Area:
- Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School (JDS)
- Jewish Primary Day School of the Nation’s Capital (JPDS-NC)

The mission of the College Outreach Committee is to support our college students outside of the Beth El community by sending Hanukkah and Passover packages and the rabbi’s periodic emails. This committee also prepares a Beth El College Student Directory, which can be used to network and assist high school juniors and seniors in the college selection process.
The committee meets twice a year to prepare the holiday packages for mailing and volunteers are notified by email. In the past school year, the committee sent 112 Hanukkah packages and 125 Passover packages to students at 68 colleges and universities.
