  • 9:30 pm – Remarks by Rabbi Hazzan Jeffrey Myers (VIDEO); Rabbi Hazzan Jeffrey Myers is the spiritual leader of Tree of Life * Or L’Simcha Congregation in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Since the attack on his congregation on Shabbat morning, October 27, 2018, Rabbi Hazzan Myers has been “a face for tragedy, a voice for peace,” advocating for his congregation and for the wider Jewish community in forums about responses to hate crimes and antisemitism.
    • Join us for a screening of Rabbi Hazzan Myers’s passionate May 2019 remarks to the Cantors Assembly. A discussion of communal forgiveness after tragedy, framed with poetry by Yehuda Amichai, will be led by Rabbi Lyle Fishman (Ohr Kodesh Congregation, Chevy Chase) and Rabbi Greg Harris (Congregation Beth El, Bethesda).

  • 11:00 pm – Selichot Service

Our annual Selichot service, leading into the High Holidays, will be led by Hazzan Asa Fradkin from Beth El and Cantor Lindsay Schoenberger Kanter from Temple Emanuel. (Ohr Kodesh Hazzenet Hinda Eisen Labovitz will be on maternity leave).
