SUMMARY:Women of Beth El Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Take a break from your Pesach prep\, unload some of your chametz\, and join Women of Beth El for a relaxing\, slow flow yoga class on Sunday\, March 29 at 11:00 am. Class will be held at Beth El in the Zahler Social Hall. Please bring a mat and any props you like to use for yoga\, although the class will not require props. This class is open to all levels but members should have some yoga experience\, be able to be on the floor\, and get up and down without assistance. \nAfter class\, we will share some refreshments – please bring some chametz that you need to clear from your kitchen (make sure it’s marked as kosher) to share with the group! We will have snacks available as well\, but this is a good chance to get rid of those crackers\, cookies\, or bag of pretzels! We will also share some reflections on the upcoming holiday. \nCost is $5 and registration is required.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for the annual Daniel Mann Literary Luminaries Lecture featuring guest speaker Emily Tamkin\, author of Bad Jews: A History of American Jewish Politics and Identities\, and The Influence of Soros: Politics\, Power\, and the Struggle for an Open Society. Tamkin is a journalist by trade\, and she writes and reports mostly on Jewish identities and politics\, U.S. foreign policy\, and illiberalism. \nThe Literary Luminaries Lecture series was conceived by the late Daniel Mann z”l\, a Jewish community professional and Library Committee member. He organized the first several presentations\, including our inaugural lecture in 2009\, featuring Dr. Peggy Pearlstein\, then-head of the Hebraic Section at the Library of Congress. After Daniel’s death in 2014\, the series was renamed in his memory.

SUMMARY:Lunch and a Program: Stolpersteine: Memorializing the Victims of Nazism
DESCRIPTION:Stolpersteine (German for stumbling stones) are 4×4 inch brass plaques set into the sidewalk in front of a building where a victim of the Nazis lived or worked. They were created by German artist Gunter Demnig in 1992. Since then\, more than 100\,000 stones have been set in European cities. In 2008\, Marsha Rehns went to Wuerzburg\, Germany\, for the setting of a stone for her great-uncle\, Ignaz Rindskopf. Marsha will describe the emotional stone-setting and the book she wrote about the project and her family’s history in Germany. Howie Stein\, whose relative was also memorialized with a Stolperstein\, will add his reflections. A list of congregants who have had stones placed for their family members\, as well as details about the loved ones\, will be distributed.
