When Drexel University professor Harriet Levin Millan met one of the Lost Boys of Sudan, Michael Majok Kuch, his epic story became the subject of her riveting novel. How Fast Can You Run is the inspiring true story of a young survivor whose village in South Sudan was torched in the middle of the night, separating him from his mother at five years old.

After trekking a thousand miles through war zones and wilderness, Michael rotated through a series of refugee camps for ten years until he was granted political asylum in the United States. Michael continued to search for his mother upon his arrival, to no avail.

Everyone is welcome to join the Men’s Club for a free breakfast at 9:30 am on Sunday, April 9 and speaker at 10:00 am.  Come learn how Harriet Millan and her family stepped up to create The Reunion Project and worked to reunite Michael with his mother 22 years after their harrowing separation. It’s an inspirational story that shows the power of community and the ability to effect change, even in the face of tremendous odds.
