Grocery Gift Cards
Do you shop at Moti’s Market (formerly KosherMart), Shalom, Giant, or Shoppers? Help support Beth El without any additional cost to you by purchasing gift cards/scrip for any of these stores at Beth El. (Safeway shoppers, call the office for special info). You receive full face value and Beth El receives a percentage from each store. This is an easy but important component of our fundraising. For more information, stop by the office on your next visit to the shul or call 301-652-2606.
Gifts of Appreciated Stock
With the stock market at record highs, we have an extraordinary opportunity to take full advantage of current tax incentives. A gift of stock enables you to maximize your contribution to Beth El, maximize your charitable deduction and minimize your tax liability.
- Any gain in a long-term appreciated asset is fully taxable if you sell it yourself, but not if you donate it to Beth El.
- Your charitable deduction for federal income tax purposes is based on the full market value of the asset on the date the gift is received.
- You receive a gift credit from Beth El for the full value of the asset, but the cost to you is only your original cost less the tax savings.
Transferring stock to Beth El is an easy procedure. Contact Sheila Bellack, email@example.com, for instructions.
Special Opportunity for Donors Age 70 ½ or Older
