High Holy Day Services
Best wishes to the Beth El community for a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year!
Beth El conducts three parallel services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur. Traditional services are held in the Bender Sanctuary at Beth El and at Walt Whitman high school.
The alternative Kol Haneshama services take place in the Swoff Chapel. This service is lay-lead service that incorporates lots of singing, discussions, creative readings, and a royal crown. On Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur mornings this service starts with the Torah service.
Tashlich is held at Rock Creek Park near the intersection of Cedar Lane and Beach Drive.
On the second day of Rosh Hashanah only the traditional service at Beth El takes place.
During the summer, High Holy Day packets are sent to all congregants to get tickets for one of the three services.
