High Holy Day Services

Best wishes to the Beth El community for a Happy, Healthy and Peaceful New Year!

Beth El conducts three parallel services on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.  Traditional services are held in the Bender Sanctuary at Beth El and at Walt Whitman high school.

The alternative Kol Haneshama services take place in the Swoff Chapel. On the first day of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur mornings this service starts with the Torah service. This service is lay-lead and incorporates lots of singing, discussions and creative readings.

The alternative Worship of the Heart services take place in the Swoff Chapel on the second day of Rosh Hashanah and is lead by Rabbi Harris and congregants.

Tashlich is held at Rock Creek Park near the intersection of Cedar Lane and Beach Drive.

During the summer, High Holy Day packets are sent to all congregants to get tickets for one of the three services.

Congregation Beth El is affiliated with the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism
