Beth El was part of an initiative spearheaded over two years ago by the Partnership for Jewish Life and Learning to re-envision Jewish learning for our congregation called Congregational Education for the 21st Century (CE21). There are two pilot models of CE21: Learning 2Gether (L2G) and Age & Stage: Life Learning.
L2G involves using Madrichim, or coaches. The small learning groups will meet at a variety of locations and incorporate both traditional and non-traditional learning opportunities. This year, L2G will be powered by ShalomLearning. L2G classes will be offered for 4th, 5th, and 6th grade. Please see the below link for more information.
For the second pilot, Age and Stage, we will be creating alternative, meaningful ways to present Jewish wisdom and virtues in the context of bringing Jewish values to life issues. This program has begun with Empty Nesters. In the Fall, a program named Zohar, will target 11th and 12th graders. In the future, this pilot will be adapted to other congregational families at their life stages, ultimately demonstrating that everyone can look to Judaism for answers when facing difficult of challenging times.
