About 75 people – young, old, men, women, and children – began their Superbowl Sunday with a great start as they participated in the seventh annual event sponsored by the Federation of Jewish Men’s Clubs to encourage Jews to put on tefillin. Some of these people put on tefillin that day as they do every weekday (except Shabbat and holidays). Others put on tefillin for the first time and got the experience of a lifetime. Both Rabbi Rudolph and Rabbi Harris were on hand and helped people put on their tefillin – showing them the details of how to wrap it around their hand and fingers. Others showed their peers or children how to put on tefillin. It was a great way to experience this mitzvah and see what tefillin is all about.
